1. Eve on 2011 imac 27" i5 2.7ghz with AMD 6770m 512mb - in Macintosh [original thread]
You need the 1gb IMO. Your really shorting the machine if you don't. You didm;t mention which model, but the 27" runs at such a high resolution that even 1gb is questionable if your going to do full screen gaming. Your performance for Eve will de...

5. Star background flickers - in Macintosh [original thread]
Yeah I noticed this several months ago. It's as though the star field graphics aren't getting anti-alliased. A few jumps and it goes away (for me), but back after dock/undock. ATI graphics.

6. EXTREME LAG! - in Macintosh [original thread]
I'm trying to track down performance issues as well. One thing for sure, check that you are on 10.7.3 if you have ATI graphics. There was a nasty bug that basically halved your framerate after one sleep sleep cycle. So everyone runs fine until you...

7. CCP: When are you going to fix Multi-threaded OpenGL performance ?? - in Macintosh [original thread]
We saw something about the issue being identified, but nothing since. I'm getting half the performance I used to. Workaround of turning off MT OpenGL still helps but thats not a long term solution. Thx

8. Patch causes abysmal frame rate - in Macintosh [original thread]
So are you saying post patch you were able to turn on Multithreaded Open-GL and your frame rates went back to normal? Because I've had exactly the opposite experience. Pre 1.5: I had 60FPS solid in space and in hangar with multithreaded open-gl o...

11. Anti-aliased starfield - in Macintosh [original thread]
One thing I've noticed on my system with an ATI 6870 is that in Windows when in space the stars are anti-aliased. Same settings but booted into 10.7 and the stars and starfield are not anti aliaed. Looks ugly and it bugs me. Any ideas?

12. Perpetuum vs EVE (how the software is installed and run) - in Macintosh [original thread]
Perpetuum online will run under crossover, but it will run much better under Parallels 6 and XP. I got twice the framerate with Parallel that the crossover/wine client gave. Also FYI, WOT will run flawlessly in Parallels 6, but you better have a ...

Play in windowed mode, your imac will use 50% of the cpu vs fullscreen. As a result your system will generate less heat. And yes 100C with 2k fans is a problem on a macbook, no if ands or buts about it. Read the forums and you'll see normal temps ...

Yeah there is something wrong with your macbook. Try uninstalling smc first and then test. My MBP 13" shoots up into the high 70s/mid 80's before the fans start to spin up past 2k, then it settles after a bit in the low 70's. If your fans are runn...
